“Our senior professors on a comparative side are fairing competitively–fairly well against our peer universities in the state and in the country. It’s our junior professors that are struggling to the greatest degree.” -President Frank T. Brogan, BOT Conference Call, April 21, 2009.

FACT: The exact opposite is the case. The longer faculty members stay at FAU the worse their salaries are compared to those offered by peer institutions. According to recent data collected by the AAUP and published in The Chronicle of Higher Education, FAU has the second worst faculty salaries among doctoral-granting universities in Florida (the lowest being Florida Institute of Technology), and is the lowest paying institution for senior female faculty.
