SENT CERTIFIED MAIL: RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED

Dear Provost Alperin,

I am requesting that you set up an appointment to meet with UFF-FAU’s Contract Enforcement Chair Douglas Broadfield to settle on an arbitrator for the UFF Chapter Grievance pertaining to the May 29, 2009 layoff of tenured faculty members in the College of Engineering. Your failure to meet with Dr. Broadfield within a reasonable time upon your receipt of this correspondence will result in UFF filing an Unfair Labor Practice charge against the Florida Atlantic University administration for failure to honestly and forthrightly comply with the grievance process stipulated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Sincerely,

(signed)

James F. Tracy
President
