Article 24, Benefits –
Reduced the number of dependent credits that must be taken from 12 credit hours to 9 credit hours that are required for the Employee Educational Scholarship Program (EESP)
Article 22, StudyLeaves and Sabbaticals –
Increased the number of sabbaticals at full pay for one semester from 1 per 26 eligible faculty to 1 per 20 eligible faculty
Increased the number of faculty that may be awarded a sabbatical the same semester/year within a department or unit from 1 to 3.
Appendix H, Second Summer Course Compensation –
Some of the Colleges increased the compensation for second summer courses.
Article 9, Assignment of Responsibilities– updates to language ensuring timely communication of assignments and to ensure due processes for faculty assignments.
Article 10, Employee Performance Evaluations – PTR language and protections were added, accompanying the phasing out of Sustained Performance at the end of 2025-2026. Language was added to ensure that every department has specific written criteria that delineate expectations for each rating.
Article 14, Promotion Procedure & Article 15, Tenure – updates to language ensuring uniform communications via Interfolio of all new or added documents to the candidates’ file. Language was added to ensure that if a faculty member’s file was submitted and incomplete, they will be notified to include the missing document(s) and resubmit the file within five (5) days of notification.
Article 20, Grievance and Arbitration Procedure – added an additional mechanism in the step 2 stage of a grievance where an advisory panel may be requested. The panel would provide the Provost with their written non-binding findings and recommendation. Added language to ensure that when Florida Statute 1001.741 (that prohibits arbitration) is struck, enjoined, or found invalid, the arbitration language will immediately be in effect.
Article 6, Nondiscrimination – Updates to comply with the new changes to Title IX further defining sexual harassment to include sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. The other change was to update and replace the reference to the Office of Inclusion with its current title, Office of Civil Rights and Title IX.
Article 8, Appointment– An accounting of leave time accrual, including FAUS personal leave days, will be available in Workday under job details.
Article 26, Payroll Deduction – Employer payroll deductions for union dues have been removed from the CBA.
