DESCRIPTION:The Story of Plastic (2019) offers a seething expose uncovering the ugly truth behind the current global plastic pollution crisis and the global movement rising up in response. Join us in a discussion moderated by Dr. Karen Leader\, Associate Professor of Art History\, with Dr. Stacey Balkan\, Associate Professor of Environmental Humanities\, Department of English\, who will offer thoughts on “the nonhuman costs of extractive economies across our petrochemical planet.” Also participating is Autumn Bryan\, graduate student at FAU’s Center for Environmental Studies\, who writes for The Invading Sea\, FAU’s news source for environmental issues.
