DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nGiven the centrality of immigration in recent news and South Florida serving as a hub for various immigrant communities\, we will be screening Boat People (2024)\, a short form fiction film about Haitian refugees who were held in Guantanamo Bay in the 1990s\, and Black Girl (1966)\, the first Black independent Senegalese film that follows a Senegalese woman who moves to France to work for a wealthy family.
