Historic session of state education boards promises meeting business workforce needs

JUPITER — Just shy of two months into office, State University System Chancellor Frank Brogan engineered an historic meeting Thursday between the two groups responsible for kindergarten through graduate school education in Florida. At the behest of a powerful business lobby that wants an education system that meets its workforce needs, Brogan brought together for the first time the Board of Governors, which oversees public universities, and the Board of Education, which oversees everything else, including K-12, community colleges and the recently created state colleges.
