UFF-FAU’s annual State of the Union meeting will be held Monday, September 24, 2018, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., in GN 101 (General Classroom North – across the street from the Rec Ctr). This general body meeting will provide an overview of the ongoing bargaining sessions, a specific update on salary negotiations, and a statement on future plans for the Union.
Overall, the State of the Union is a chance for union members to come together, speak their minds to one other and their union representatives, and make sure their voices are heard at FAU. It’s a sad state of affairs when faculty, teachers at FAUS, and librarians struggle financially to make ends meet. The only way to bring about change is to use our collective efforts, ideas, and willpower to decide our future, and there is no better forum for this kind of active union participation than the annual State of the Union meeting.
