We would like to bring to your attention the newly formed UFF-FAU Solidarity Committee. This committee’s mission is to stand in solidarity with struggles for racial, ethnic, gender, disability, and social and economic justice that intersect with our commitment to workers’ rights. In this context, UFF-FAU’s Solidarity Committee supports local movements to advance the interests of the educators and communities we serve through organizing, and activism around issues that matter to our membership. In the next few weeks, we will share information about two resolutions passed by UFF-FAU’s Executive Committee:
1) A resolution in support of the Black Lives Matter movement
2) A resolution/petition in favor of FAU separating all ties with the GEO Group.
