Union Member Benefits

At the most basic level, every membership makes UFF-FAU stronger, which gives us a stronger voice when lobbying the legislature or negotiating your Collective Bargaining Agreement, and this comes back to you in increased salary and improved working conditions. Peer reviewed studies have shown a direct correlation between faculty union membership density and their ability to bring benefits to their members.

However, UFF-FAU also provides a number of benefits that are only for dues-paying members:

  • $1,000,000 professional liability insurance.
  • $10,000 life insurance.
  • $50,000 accidental death insurance.
  • Two free, 30-minute, non-employment-related legal consultations. These consultations are for matters not related to your job (estate planning, wills, real estate, etc.). Work-related matters are handled by UFF-FAU through the University grievance procedure and, if necessary, UFF will provide legal representation if your grievance proceeds to arbitration.
  • Discounts on home & auto insurance, and on publications.
  • A voice in defining UFF negotiating priorities.
  • UFF representation should you need to file a grievance (this benefit can easily be worth $20,000 if a grievance goes to arbitration).

Retired Members

Retired membership is a statewide network that allows members to stay connected with fellow National Education Association, American Federation of Teachers, Florida Education Association and United Faculty of Florida members and programs. FEA/UFF-Retired members work to improve and strengthen the programs that affect retired educators: the Florida Retirement System, health benefits, public education, and Medicare and Social Security.

If you have a problem accessing your membership simply call NEA member benefits 1-800-637-4636 for a quick fix! Sometimes a duplicate record is created if your information doesn’t match exactly with what is on file. It’s easy to call and have a representative fix it.

Step 2.

Florida Education Association (FEA)

You should have received a membership card in the mail. Contact our local union office at 1-850-224-8220 or email if you don’t know your membership number.

Step 1.
To browse benefits through the website login at www.feaweb.org
Login with your membership number and password. It’s the 10-digit number located on the front of your FEA membership card and the password you received in the mail.​
Contact the local union office if you didn’t get these (1-850-224-8220).
Remember to update your address with them so you can start receiving mail.

Click on the link to go to the ACCESS benefits website and register your account.
